Once again, my fellow Americans amuse and dismay me over their smallmindedness. As reality TV proves over and over again, Americans have way too much time and still can't seem to fill their small brains.
Is there really a faction that will boycott Absolut over this ad, that ran in Mexico and not in the US, which depicted a generalized 1830s map of North America where most of the Western US was part of Mexico.
The caption stated: In an Absolut World. Now, I'm not entirely sure what the Absolut people were thinking because the ad's message is not clear to me. I know that Absolut has long been using their company name as a substitute for the word 'absolute' in ads. Perhaps that's all there is to it; perhaps the problem is that I don't live in Mexico. So be it.
I've given this issue all the time that it deserves - merely that some people in this country take nationalistic notions way too far. So what if someone poked fun at us.
A toast to Absolut for getting me to buy a bottle because of the ad/uproar!
