Despite all of the evidence from the Great Depression and the ill-advised rush in 1933 to reduce the deficit, all Republicans (and some Democrats) are posturing on their concerns about our current deficit. It's almost as if the Republicans would love a double dip recession before 2012 so they can paint the problems all over BHO. It's like their only goals are to defeat BHO and to give handouts to the wealthy.
Oh yeah, that's exactly what it is?
First question: why must extension of unemployment benefits be paid for yet the Bush tax cuts needn't be paid for?
Second question: why can't you accept the fact that unemployment benefits are spent in real time on very tangible items (food, rent, etc.) and save hundreds of thousands of jobs because of this spending; and why must you insist that millionaires always create jobs with their windfalls?
Helping the unfortunate at Christmas - WWJD? He would do the exact opposite of what Republicans are advocating. That cannot be disputed.
